The month of IYAR

TIME OF HEALING

Iyar is the second of the twelve months of the Jewish calendar. It is often called the month of Ziv, meaning "radiance." However, it is often referred to as the month of (natural) healing. It is an acronym for Exodus 15:16, "I AM God Your Healer."

The tribe of Issachar was known for understanding the times and the secrets of God. This month is linked with the tribe of Issachar. When we understand the times and begin to deal with our thoughts, processing them and receiving spiritual advice, natural healing comes.

When Israel passed out of Egypt they didn't know much about God. They had a few stories that had been passed down from Abraham. When they became slaves in Egypt they mainly knew about the gods of the Egyptians.

Think about how they must have felt

traveling through the Red Sea, in the month of Iyar.

They were supernaturally delivered out of their captivity, but the captivity had not been delivered out of them. The miracles they encountered must have shaken them to the core. In Exodus 15:26 God said, "Moses, I not only heal water - I heal people!" What a covenant promise!

Remember the story in Exodus 17, when Israel was attacked by the Amalekites? When Moses went to the top of the hill and raised His hands they won. As soon as he put his hands down, they lost. Aaron and Hur helped Moses by holding his hands up and they won the battle, thus we learn the name Yahweh Nissi, or the Lord, my Banner of Victory.

God revealed His covenant secrets. He is our provider. He is our healer. He is our banner of victory. Now, we see a pattern. In month one, God wants us to renew our covenant. In month two, He reveals the secrets of his covenant. And then Pentecost comes in month three and God brings us into a whole new level.

What do you lack? The Bible says in Daniel 2:21-22 that "He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals deep and secret things."

During the month of Iyar, of natural healing, you must deal with the areas of your soul. Ask Him to show you areas in your mind, your will and emotions that He wants to heal. He wants to deal with the lies you believe, the judgments you have made and the vows that you have covenanted with that feed the lies and brings deception.
